 the first President by the Ministry of Education. The two-year program began to admit junior college graduates to the Departments of

 Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials and Mineral Resources, Civil Engineering, Electronic

 Engineering, and Industrial Engineering . The four-year program started to admit high-school and vocational school graduates to pursue

 studies in the Departments of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical engineering, Materials and Mineral Resources,

 1997 National Taipei Institute of Technology was renamed National Taipei University of Technology. Added to the University were two   

 departments: Department of Vehicle Engineering and Department of Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Engineering. And in addition to

 the Institute of Mechatronic Engineering, three more institutes were established: Institute of Computer, Communication and Control

 Engineering, Institute of Civil and Disaster Prevention Engineering, and Institute of Production System Engineering and Management. In

 the same year, the university began to admit two-year on-the-job program students.

 2000 Up until the year 2000, we totally have nine departments for two-year programs, twelve departments for fours-year programs, and

 nineteen graduate programs for the master degree. To promote advanced and high-tech academic research, and to foster more

 professionals with high-quality Skills, National Taipei University of Technology will set up more master degree programs as well as 

 Ph.D. programs in order to reach the goal of becoming a comprehensive university of technology.
