Double Object Verbs: 3 types
a. give  me  a telephone number (hand, throw, award, lend, owe, fax, phone)
b. sing  us  a folk song (make, find, buy, order, play, choose, save fetch, cook)
c. fling him a scornful look (bear him a grudge, envy him his good luck, fine her $200, cost him his life, kiss her mother good-bye, keep you company, mean you no harm, forgive him his crimes, set us a difficult problem)

Incomplete Transitive Verbs:
call their daughter Mary (name, elect, make, appoint, nominate, consider, keep, count, christen, dub, vote, pronounce, acclaim, declare)

-->He felt it his duty to mention this to her.
-->He made it a rule to go jogging every morning.
-->I consider it a privilege to work in your country.
-->I felt it a terrible thing that my mother should have to toil it so endlessly.

Compound VS. Complex Sentences: Featuring Formats and Functions

Complex: Nominal (serving as Subject, Object, Complement, Appositive), Adjectival, Adverbial (Time, Place, Result, Reason, Conditional, Concessive, Purpose, Manner, Comparative)
